Each and every program and event put forward by the HHA Home Builders Association is done so with the help from our members, who volunteer their time by serving on an HBA committee or council. Participating on a committee or council is the very best way to meet fellow members, grow the association, and help your business. FISHING TOURNAMENT: Plans and promotes the Fishing Tournament to be held in October 2021. Chaired by: Brian Quinn, The Twelve Oaks Group and Bill Ludwig, Pella Windows and Doors.

GOLF TOURNAMENT: Plans, promotes and produces the annual Golf Tournament. Held each August, Golf Tournament is one of the Association’s premier member-only social events. Chaired by: Brandon Edwards, Element Construction.

LOWCOUNTRY HOME & GARDEN SHOW: Plans, promotes and produces the annual Home & Garden Show. Held in March (May 2021), the annual Home & Garden Show is one of the Association’s premier events. Chaired by: Matt Lyle, Lyle Construction.

LIGHTHOUSE AWARDS: Plans, promotes and produces the annual LightHouse Awards program, including the “Call for Entries”, judging and the awards gala. Chaired by: Dan Monroe, LowCountry Home Magazine

PARADE OF HOMES: Plans, promotes and produces the annual Parade of Homes Tour. Held in March (May 2021) in conjunction with the Home & Garden Show, the annual Parade of Homes Tour showcases the craftsmanship of our area’s builders and homes. Chaired by: Dan Monroe, LowCountry Home Magazine

EVENTS: Plans and promotes all monthly membership meetings and social events, including the Builder Speed Networking, Oyster Roast, and Holiday Hoedown. Chaired by: Brian Quinn, The Twelve Oaks Group.

BUILDING CODES & DISASTER PREPAREDNESS: Responsible for serving as a liaison between town and county building codes departments and the HBA membership. Responsible for annual member codes education. Also responsible for the development, implementation and promotion of an HBA Disaster Plan. Works in concert with government agencies involved in pre and post disaster efforts.

EDUCATION: Responsible for identifying, planning and producing ongoing educational programs for the HBA and its membership.

EDUCATION FOUNDATION: Responsible for events and activities of the Hilton Head Home Builders Education Foundation 501(c)(3), which provides scholarships for continuing education for graduating local high school students. Chaired by: Melissa Brock, The Greenery, Inc.

EXECUTIVE: Made up of elected officers of the Board of Directors. Provide Association oversight and report directly to the Board of Directors.  Chaired by: David Gaal, Gaal Custom Homes and Remodeling.

GOVERNMENTAL & REGULATORY AFFAIRS: Responsible for monitoring ongoing activities by governmental councils, commissions, agencies and others impacting the housing industry. Also responsible for monitoring ongoing codes activities that impact the housing industry.

MEMBERSHIP and HBA AMBASSADORS: Plans and promotes membership recruitment and retention activities, new member orientation, ambassadors and other activities to ensure continued membership growth. Membership Chaired by: Matt Bader, Full Circle Development. HBA Ambassadors Chaired by: Sara Broman and Lisa Henry, Truist.

NOMINATIONS: Members appointed by Immediate Past President. Responsible for the selection, evaluation and nomination of future members of the Association Board of Directors.  Chaired by: Matt Lyle, Lyle Construction. 

PUBLIC RELATIONS: Responsible for overseeing and promoting the public relations and community affairs operations of the HBA. 

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT: Advocating for trades education and training in the community in order to increase workforce in the building industry. Chaired by: Linda Klingman, HRCoastal.

(NOTE: Additional dues apply to members belonging to councils of the Association)

REMODELERS COUNCIL (RMC): Responsible for ongoing development, research and promotion of remodeling efforts within the local housing industry and HBA. Remodelers Council membership is $50 annually and includes a number of benefits specifically designed to promote and aid council members.  Chaired by: Lou Peluso, H2 Builders. 

PROFESSIONAL WOMEN IN BUILDING (PWB) COUNCIL: New in 2021! Stay tuned for council mission, members, and more. Chaired by Andrea Eldred, Element Construction.
