Impact

2024 marks the 33rd year the Hilton Head Area Home Builders Education Foundation has been awarding scholarships to local graduating seniors. As a result of successful fundraising and monetary contributions from HBA members as well as others within the community; the Foundation surpassed its annual goal and was able to increase the scholarships from ten $3,000 scholarships in 2017 to ten $3,500 scholarships in 2018. The Foundation hopes this success and support from HBA members and the community will continue in 2019.

“In 1997, I was a recipient of the Hilton Head Home Builders Scholarship as a high school senior on Hilton Head Island. With the help of the scholarship I was able to graduate from Georgetown University with a Bachelor’s degree in business. Upon graduation I began working as a Management Trainee with Cintas Corporation. Today, I still work at Cintas as the General Manager of one its largest locations in the US. I am married to a wonderful woman that I met while attending Georgetown and have 3 children.

This scholarship was a catalyst for me financially but more importantly it gave me great confidence that this generous organization believed in me enough to invest in my future. This confidence gave me the boost I needed to attend a  college both academically rigorous and far from the safety and security of the island I grew up on.
